We will visit two noted revitalized sites of Hong Kong located at Lai Chi Kok and Shek Yip Mei.
Lui Seng Chun located at Lai Chi Kok Road is a Grade I historic 4-storey tong-lau built in 1931. In 2008, it became part of the seven buildings of Batch I of the Hong Kong Government’s “Revitalizing Historic Buildings through Partnership Scheme”. Participants will be lead on a guided tour around the building, revisiting the building’s historic past and present beauty. Following that, participants will travel to Shek Yip Mei’s Jockey Creative Club Arts Centre, formerly a factory estate. Participants will be able to enjoy the architectural wonder and engage in a discussion on the success of the two revitalized sites of Hong Kong with experts from HKBU and the Building Surveying Division Task Force in this subject.
