讲师	:	Dr. Peter S.P. Wong Dr. Wong is a Senior Lecturer in Construction Management of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University. He is the Education Committee member of the AIQS and the Assessor of the Board of APC in RICS in the State of Victoria, Australia. Before embarking on his research career, Dr. Wong worked as a quantity surveyor with Rider Levett Bucknall (HK) Ltd, and was involved in some prestigious construction projects, including the development of Two International Finance Centre in Hong Kong. He is the principal quantity surveying academic responsible for the development of the QS courses in RMIT’s Construction Management programs offer in Melbourne, Singapore and Hong Kong.

详情	:	In Hong Kong, while the use of ADR techniques remains voluntary, mediation is the preferred choice as stipulated in many standard forms of building contract. In Australia, while similar arrangements are suggested in the relevant standard forms, disputants are empowered to refer payment disputes to adjudication by the Security of Payment Act (SPA). Researchers and governments in many countries advocated that the SPA embeds mandatory adjudication mechanism into payment disputes resolution. This upholds the disputants’ right to adjudicate, and seeks to save time, cost and reduce complications of resolving payment disputes. Should Hong Kong follow this trail? The speaker will share his research study to shed some lights on the application of SPA in Australia.

2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.
