讲师	:	Sr Sunny Choi - Senior Quantity Surveyor of Hong Kong Housing Authority. Sunny is a qualified Quantity Surveyor and is now working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the Housing Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government. He has over 30 years professional quantity surveying experience in technical audit, cost management and contract administration of construction and maintenance works. He has been involved in the exploration and development of BIM applications for quantity surveying works since 2010. He is a RICS Certified BIM Manager and is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Building Information Modelling (HKIBIM). He has served as a council member in the Quantity Surveying Division of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) and the Executive Committee of the buildingSMART Hong Kong (bSHK) since 2013.

详情	:	BIM models include building information such as dimensions and quantities, which can be extracted for the purpose of cost estimating and measurement. While some quantity surveyors are anticipating and going to enjoy the increase in efficiency and productivity brought by BIM technology, others are worrying BIM will replace them. The speaker has received the question "Will BIM replace QS?" from many students, graduates and qualified quantity surveyors in the past few years. The talk will analyse how far BIM is a threat to quantity surveyors.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

Under no circumstances shall The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors ("HKIS"), their staff or agents be held liable for the consequence of any accidents whether or not they are caused by the negligence of the HKIS, their staff and/or agents.

3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
