详情	:	Mr. Kent Lam received his surveying engineering education in Canada from the University of New Brunswick and the University of Calgary. Mr. Lam has over twenty years of experience working for both tertiary education and GIS industry in Hong Kong and Canada. In 1991, he returned to Hong Kong and joined the Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. During his tenure with LSGI, he played a key role in establishing both the undergraduate and graduate programmes in the Department. After leaving LSGI in 2001, he worked for various technology and listed companies in Hong Kong in the senior management level looking after R&D, business operation, business development and marketing. He also serviced as a visiting lecturer and M.Phil. student supervisor for the Master of Arts in Transport Policy & Planning, The University of Hong Kong. He has re-joined LSGI again as an academic staff since 2012. In addition to the normal teaching and programme administrative duties, he also finds interest in the areas of intelligent transportation system and BIM. He is currently the fellow and council member of the Association of Intelligent Transportation Systems Hong Kong (ITSHK). He is also helping LSGI to review the academic program and integrate BIM elements into the existing curriculum. In this seminar, Mr. Lam will discuss the challenges and opportunities that BIM has brought forward to the land surveying profession. During the presentation, he will briefly introduce the BIM technology. He will then discuss BIM from the data capture, data management and project management perspectives.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

Under no circumstances shall The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors ("HKIS"), their staff or agents be held liable for the consequence of any accidents whether or not they are caused by the negligence of the HKIS, their staff and/or agents.
2.	Members participating in the above visit shall be in good health condition.
3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
4.	Claims related to COVID-19 and/or pandemics are excluded under the insurance policy procured by the HKIS.
