讲师	:	Sr Professor Leung Shou Chun, MBE. FHKILS, FHKIS, FRICS, RPS(LS), ALS. Former Principal Government Land Surveyor (now known as Deputy Director), Survey and Mapping, Lands Department. Former President of HKILS (Hong Kong Institute of Land Surveyors). Former President of HKIS (Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors). Former President of HKAAST (Hong Kong Association of the Advancement of Science and Technology). Adjunct Professor, Department of Land Surveying and Geo-informatics in Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Managing Director of Leung Shou Chun Land Surveying Consultants Ltd. Member of the Adverse Possession Sub-Committee of the Law Reform Commission. Sr Prof. Leung has 50 years’ professional experience in all kinds of land surveying, but in recent years specialized on cadastre and boundary survey, and consultancy on land boundary disputes. He has been engaged in hundreds of boundary dispute cases and attended as an expert witness in about 30 Court cases.

详情	:	The speaker will discuss the factors that may cause the claim of Adverse Possession. He will express his personal opinion on the nature of these factors and analyse how these factors will constitute a genuine Adverse Possession or not. The speaker will cite certain court cases to illustrate his opinion and discuss the role of a land surveyor in studying an Adverse Possession case, in preparing the study report and in presenting himself as the expert witness in the Court.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

Under no circumstances shall The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors ("HKIS"), their staff or agents be held liable for the consequence of any accidents whether or not they are caused by the negligence of the HKIS, their staff and/or agents.

3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
4.	Claims related to COVID-19 and/or pandemics are excluded under the insurance policy procured by the HKIS.
