He was appointed as the first Executive Director of the Occupational Safety & Health Council when it was set up in 1988. Dr. Wong is active in promoting safety and health and is a member of a number of local and overseas safety and health institutions. He has been the Chairman of the HK Occupational Safety & Health Association and was the founder President of the Society of Accredited Safety Auditors.

详情	:	Most accidents are caused by lack of safety precautionary measures or safety procedures. Employers and occupiers who are responsible for these provisions may face the risk of prosecution against failure to exercise duty of care to their employees or other persons, and possible hefty civil claims. These duties are clearly stipulated in legislation in Hong Kong. The seminar will address the duty of care of occupational safety & health for employers and occupier of industry. Two judgements from the Court of Final Appeal cases on fatal accidents in construction sites will be used as illustration and be discussed. Prior identification of hazards can also reduce the chances and consequences of accidents. This seminar will also help to identify hazards, and to conduct risk assessments to develop controls to mitigate the risk of accidents.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
4.	Claims related to COVID-19 and/or pandemics are excluded under the insurance policy procured by the HKIS.
