講師	:	Mr Joseph McCaffrey, BSc(Surv) MSc (CPM) MSCSI MRICS ICIOB About the speaker: Joseph McCaffrey is a tutor in M&E quantity surveying at the College of Estate Management (CEM) and course director for the BSc in Building Services Quantity Surveying. With more than 10 years’ experience in private practice, he has a special interest in business ethics and maintaining high professional standards. Joseph is a chartered quantity surveyor, being a member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Building. Joseph has a particular interest in life cycle costing, value engineering and risk management for building services, and is currently undertaking extensive research on these topics. He is a member of the Building Services Research and Information Association Council and the RICS Building Engineering Services Committee. He is currently working with property and construction professionals in Russia, representing CEM there. Joseph is an external examiner at Southampton Solent University and the Waterford Institute of Technology Ireland.

詳情	:	Joseph will deliver a CPD lecture on ‘Professional Ethics in Property and Construction’. This presentation will look at the philosophy of ethics and the application of ethics in the business environment, including some ethical dilemmas that can be faced by professionals operating in the property and construction industry. The results of research on ethics undertaken by the College of Estate Management, UK, will be discussed, together with the professional ethics guidance provided by RICS and CIOB. The UK Bribery Act 2010, which comes into effect in 2011, provides a legal framework to combat bribery and affects not only UK-based firms, but firms in other countries which have a UK office. The aims of this Act will also be outlined.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.
