講師	:	Dr. Jacky KH Chung, BSc, MPhil, PhD(HKU), CRP, MHKIPM, MHKIVM, MICRM Dr. Chung serves as a teaching member in the Department of Real Estate of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University after obtaining PhD degree from the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Hong Kong in 2010. Dr. Chung is actively engaged in Value Management (VM) practice. He is a council member of the Hong Kong Institute of Value Management (HKIVM) as well as Hong Kong Institute of Project Management (HKIPM). Being a consultant of PolyU Technology & Consultancy under the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, he has conducted a large number of professionally facilitated value management and partnering workshops for various client organisations in both public and private sectors. Moreover, Dr. Chung is also an experienced practitioner in the research field. He is a member of the Editorial Team of Built Environment Project and Asset Management, a popular journal published by Emerald. He has more than 30 research publications in leading academic journals and international conferences.

詳情	:	Organizers: Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (Quantity Surveying Division) [HKIS (QSD)] Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors [ICES] Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers [HKICM] Value Methodology (VM) is described as a powerful management tool to enhance “Value for Money” of projects by adopting a creative multidisciplinary approach to eliminate all unnecessary costs and resource consumption without affecting the targeted product / service quality. The concept of VM was developed by Mr. Lawrence Miles at the US General Electric Company in 1947 with a view to addressing the material shortage problem during the Second World War. The successful application at that time enabled VM to evolve and spread widely into the engineering and manufacturing sectors in North America. VM is now well received by the European countries, Japan, Australia, Korea, India, Saudi Arabia and China. The importance of VM is also recognized by the Hong Kong SAR Government. It is stated in Technical Circular (Works) No. 352002 (issued by Environment, Transport and Works Bureau in 2002) that VM should be selectively applied to major infrastructure projects. This talk aims to introduce the philosophy of VM and illustrate how it can help construction managers and quantity surveyors to achieve value improvement in construction projects in a practical manner. Some case studies will be shared and discussed.

Payment should be paid by cheque made payable to “Surveyors Services Ltd.” and sent to HKIS at Room 1205, 12/F, Wing On Centre, 111 Connaught Road Central, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong. 3.Successful registration will be notified by email and attendance sheets will only be distributed to attendees immediately after the CPD talk. For members of HKIS, ICES and HKICM attending for this CPD talk on 28 May 2013, the cheques paid by them will be refunded immediately after the CPD talk.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

Under no circumstances shall The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors ("HKIS"), their staff or agents be held liable for the consequence of any accidents whether or not they are caused by the negligence of the HKIS, their staff and/or agents.
2.	Members participating in the above visit shall be in good health condition.
3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
4.	Claims related to COVID-19 and/or pandemics are excluded under the insurance policy procured by the HKIS.
