講師	:	Sr KK Cheung Partner, Construction & Arbitration Practice group, Deacons KK is a fellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors and Royal Institution of Surveyors. He is a member of the panels of arbitrators in the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, China International Economic and Trade Commission, Council of Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration and Qingdao Arbitration Commission. He has been appointed as arbitrator and mediator in resolving construction and commercial disputes from time to time. KK regularly gives talks on a wide range of construction topics including NEC. KK has been quoted as one of the leading individuals in the area of Construction in the Asia Pacific Legal 500 (2014 edition) and acknowledged as one of the leading lawyers in the area of construction in Chambers Asia Pacific (2014 edition). Mr. Joseph Chung Partner, Construction & Arbitration Practice group, Deacons Joseph had practised as a barrister for many years before he became a solicitor in 2001. Over the years in his practice as a lawyer, he has been involved in many high profile construction projects, including the Hong Kong airport core project. Joseph has acted for developers, contractors, sub-contractors and project consultants. He is listed on the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre’s List of Arbitrators and is on the Panel of Arbitrators of The Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration. Joseph sat as Deputy District Court Judge for a period in 2012. Joseph regularly gives talks on a wide range of construction topics including NEC. Joseph is also recommended as one of the leading individuals in the area of Construction in the Asia Pacific Legal 500 (2014 edition) and acknowledged as one of the leading lawyers in the area of construction in Chambers Asia Pacific (2014 edition). Mr. Allen Lai Senior Consultant, Charlton Martin Consultants Limited Allen Lai is the Senior Consultant of Charlton Martin Consultants Limited. He is a qualified quantity surveyor with over 20 years experience in the construction industry working on building, engineering and E&M projects. He is frequently involved in preparation of expert evidence. Allen has also been involved in the implementation of the NEC for various work departments and utility company’s projects. He has provided a number of in-house training workshops and public seminars on NEC, and had delivered a seminar providing an insight on the use of NEC3 ECC and TSC to the HKIS, and workshop to RICS. He also serves on the Committee of Young Members Group of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators East Asia Branch.

詳情	:	NEC is often promoted as being clear and simple. Has NEC been able to achieve that purpose? The objective of this talk is to highlight potential interpretation problems in NEC. This talk will analyse the topic with particular focus on important provisions such as Core Clause 10.1 (“spirit of mutual trust and co-operation”) and administering compensation events. The talk will also highlight potential pitfalls in the wordings used in NEC in comparison with traditional forms of contracts.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.
