講師	:	Mr. Steven Yip & Mr. Samuel Cho Mr. Steven Yip is one of the partners at Minter Ellison's Hong Kong office with extensive experience advising on dispute resolution and construction issues in Hong Kong and the Asia Pacific region. He first qualified as a solicitor in Australia and then moved to Hong Kong, where he was admitted in 1998. He practises in the areas of construction law, dispute resolution and major projects and has been involved in numerous local and international arbitrations (under the rules of the ICC, HKIAC, BAC, UNCITRAL, DIAC and LCIA), litigations and mediations, including several high profile cases on behalf of public sector clients, commercial organisations as well as major developers. He has acted as mediator involving various kind of issues ranging from construction related disputes to shareholders disputes. He has also been assisting a number of foreign investors and clients in resolving disputes in Hong Kong, China, the Asia Pacific region as well as other jurisdictions in UAE and Africa. Steven is consistently nominated as a leading lawyer in Hong Kong by various legal directories including Asialaw, Chambers Asia, Chambers Global, PLC Rankings and Asia Pacific Legal 500. Mr. Samuel Cho is a senior associate in the Construction group of Minter Ellison's Hong Kong office. Samuel advises on construction dispute resolution, including mediation, adjudication, arbitration and litigation in a range of jurisdictions. He also has experience advising on a wide range of construction and related agreements. Samuel frequently appears as advocate before tribunals of all kinds. Samuel is admitted in New South Wales (Australia), New York and Hong Kong, and is fluent in English and Korean. Samuel is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb).

詳情	:	The Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance takes effect from 1 January 2016 and will apply to contracts (including construction contracts) entered into from this date. Given the profound implications of the Ordinance, it is important to update your contracts and standard clauses now to ensure that no unexpected third party claims would arise. Steven Yip and Samuel Cho of Minter Ellison will consider the key provisions of the Ordinance and explain how statutory third party rights might affect your contracts and construction projects. We will also provide some drafting tips to hopefully assist you in the period leading up to the new law coming into effect and beyond.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.
