詳情	:	Itinerary : 9:45 am - Gathering at the Main Entrance of Shatin Sewage Treatment Works 10:00 am - Visit to Shatin Sewage Treatment Works 11:30 am - Dismiss at Shatin Sewage Treatment Works (The scheduled time may be changed so as to suit the actual conditions on the date of the visit.) (Successful registration will receive details of the visit.) Shatin Sewage Treatment Works (Shatin STW) is the largest secondary sewage treatment works in Hong Kong. It occupies 28 hectares of land and serves a population of 600,000 in Shatin and Ma On Shan Districts, which produces 250,000 m³ of sewage per day. Shatin STW was commissioned in 1982. The treatment capacity was 100,000 m³ per day and was later increased to 200,000 m³ per day in 1986. To reduce the discharge of nutrient into the Tolo Harbour, nutrient removal facilities were installed in the aeration tanks in 1991, which as a result reduced the treatment capacity to 150,000 m3 per day. To meet the continuous population growth in Shatin and Ma On Shan, the STW commenced the Stage III Extension in 2001 and part of the works were commissioned in 2005. The treatment capacity of the STW was increased to 340,000 m³ per day after completion of the remaining works. In order to further improve the effluent quality, an ultraviolet light disinfection system was added in the STW in 2010. In this event, the representatives of the DSD with brief our members the basic concept and operation of the STW. A tour of different areas of the STW will also be arranged.

First-come-first-served with duly completed Standard Reservation Form, Declaration Form and payment. Please equip with your own flat bottom non-slip shoes. Latecomers will NOT be picked up. Transportation to Shatin Sewage Treatment Works to be arranged by members. (Please also see the attached location map) By Bus Route 46X (from Mei Foo): drop off at Hin Keng Bus Terminus; then take 10-15 minutes walk. By MTR: drop off at University Station; then take 10-15 minutes walk.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

1.	I confirm that I fully understand and accept the risk of joining the above visit. Under no circumstances shall The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors ("HKIS"), their staff or agents be held liable for the consequence of any accidents whether or not they are caused by the negligence of the HKIS, their staff and/or agents.
2.	Members participating in the above visit shall be in good health condition.
3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
4.	Claims related to COVID-19 and/or pandemics are excluded under the insurance policy procured by the HKIS.
