Sr T T Cheung
BSc(QS)(Hons), MSc, JD, FHKIS, FRICS, FCInstCES, RPS(QS), RCE(China), DIF, DRAd, Accredited Mediator

Sr Cheung is the past President of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, past Chairman of the Surveyors Registration Board, and past Chairman of the Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors. He is currently the Senior Vice Chairman of the International Cost Engineering Council, Standing Committee member of the China Engineering Cost Association and Chairman of the Task Force on the Implementation of ADR methods of the Construction Industry Council. He has been serving as member of a number of Appeal Boards under various Ordinances. He is currently adjunct professor at the Department of Real Estate and Construction of the University of Hong Kong and at the Department of Building and Real Estate of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Sr Cheung has been working as full time expert witness for more than 100 litigation and arbitration cases both in building and infrastructure works in the past 15 years. He also acts as mediator, expert determinator and DRAs and lectures in the universities and gives talks to other professional institutions on the training of expert witness and introduction and application of various forms of ADRs.

The purpose of the QSD PQSL 2016 is to help QSD probationers and Associate members to enrich the basic knowledge in quantity surveying practice and prepare for the APC examinations. There shall be various series of PQSL events, namely Measurement, Procurement, Standard Form of Building Contract, Contract Administration and Specialization which cover various topics such as Measurement Techniques, Measurement of Building Works and Building Services Installations, Tendering, Report on Tenders, Variation and Post-Contract Cost Control, Payment Valuation and Final Accounts, Contractual Arrangement, Liquidated Damages and Extension of Time, Direct Loss and Expense Claims, Dispute Resolution, Liquidation and etc.

This event is recognised as the Divisional PQSL event and it accounts for 2 PQSL hours. Whether the event could be regarded as the PQSL event for other Division’s APC scheme or not shall be determined by the APC candidate’s respective Division. This event does not account for CPD hours.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

Under no circumstances shall The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors ("HKIS"), their staff or agents be held liable for the consequence of any accidents whether or not they are caused by the negligence of the HKIS, their staff and/or agents.
2.	Members participating in the above visit shall be in good health condition.
3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
4.	Claims related to COVID-19 and/or pandemics are excluded under the insurance policy procured by the HKIS.
