講師	:	Sr William Ho Sr William Ho is an experienced Building Surveyor. He joined the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) in the 1980s and worked under the Estate Management Division, responsible for supervising and overseeing the estate management and maintenance programmes which are characterized by safety, accessibility, cleanliness, sustainability and social harmony. In 2013 and as a pilot project, Sr Ho steered a multi-disciplinary team of building management and maintenance personnel in HA to implement BEAM Plus for Existing Buildings in Kwai Shing West Estate. Overcoming existing constraints at this 40-year old public housing estate, environmental friendly designs, installations, operational and management practices had been successfully implemented to fulfill BEAM Plus requirements. Kwai Shing West Estate obtained “Provisional Platinum” rating in June 2014 and subsequently “Final Platinum” rating in October 2015. It is the first existing building to achieve this rating under EB category. Sr Ho has extensive experience in building management and maintenance. During his service in HA, he is strongly committed to providing high quality living environments for public housing estates in a caring, customer-focused, creative and committed manner. To arouse public awareness and promote sustainability, Sr Ho had represented HA and presented in SB13 Conference (September 2013), HKGBC Case Sharing Seminar (October 2014) and BSL 5th Anniversary Conference (September 2015). Currently he is an External Academic Advisor for the Division of Building Science and Technology in the City University of Hong Kong.

詳情	:	The Hong Kong Housing Authority has always been striving for sustainability in management and maintenance of existing public housing estates and enhancement in environmental performance to promote green living in public housing community. Timely maintenance and proper improvements are paramount to ensure and maintain sustainable development of existing estates for a safe and pleasant living environment. Moving forward in this direction and to benchmark environmental performance of existing estates with scientific building assessment method, a feasibility study for implementing BEAM Plus at existing estates was conducted in 2012. The study identified possible improvements that could enhance overall environmental performance in areas like energy use, water use, indoor environmental quality, building upgrades together with green management and operational practices. Based on the study findings and subsequently in 2013, Kwai Shing West Estate was selected as the pilot existing estate to implement BEAM Plus for Existing Buildings Version 1.2. Kwai Shing West Estate was completed in 1975. Through adopting a Plan-Do-Check-Act approach, existing building constraints had been identified and improvement objectives and targets were formulated while tenant disturbance and existing system interruptions were kept to the minimum. The improvement adopts upgrade of refuse areas, procurement of environmentally-friendly materials, energy-efficient products, water-saving devices and implementation of green management practices and operational guidelines for routine cleansing, security, waste management, planned maintenance and improvement works. Technical studies, measurements and audits had also been conducted which demonstrated compliance with BEAM Plus requirements. The framework of regular monitoring and feedback had facilitated continuous improvement of the environmental performance. Kwai Shing West Estate successfully obtained certifications in ISO14001 Environmental Management System, ISO50001 Energy Management System and OHSAS18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System. Kwai Shing West Estate obtained “Provisional Platinum” rating in June 2014 and subsequently “Final Platinum” rating in October 2015. It is the first existing building to achieve this rating under EB category.

2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.
