The Central District of Hong Kong has world-renowned reputation of being a financial hub with numerous modernised skyscrapers, whilst at different corners of the district you would still be able to find fascinating historic buildings which silently tell the stories of Hong Kong since the earliest colonial era of 1847. In fact, many of the old sites in Central are declared monuments or graded historic buildings which are under preservation and worth a visit.

Law Society Hong Kong is partnering with young groups of several other professional bodies including the Hong Kong Dental Association, Hong Kong Institute of Architects, Hong Kong Institute of Planners, and Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors to organise a 3-hour architectural tour (“Guided tour”) led by the professional tour guides of Hong Kong Architecture Centre, a non-profit institution that aims at creating interaction between architecture and the general public.

The tour will cover several selected spots of historic and architectural value at mid-low level of Central, including the Former Central Police Station Compound (comprising the former Central Police Station, Central Magistracy and Victoria Prison), the Edwardian-style former Pathological institute (where the current Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences is situated) and the 120-year-old Victorian-style former Dairy Farm storage depot (i.e. the current Fringe Club), and the tour guides will explain their features from the perspective of architecture. Networking drinks will follow allowing young professionals across different fields to meet and talk. Details of the event are as below:

Fees	:	$430 / person for joining BOTH Guided tour and Networking drinks (two drinks are included) $250 / person for Guided Tour ONLY $180 / person for Networking drinks ONLY(two drinks are included)
Dress code	:	Comfortable outdoor clothing for tour and bring your own sun block products and umbrella if necessary
Remarks	:	the Guided Tour will be conducted in Cantonese

As places are limited, registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis together with priority given to YSG Members. To sign-up, please complete and return the reply slip together with a crossed cheque made payable to "Surveyors Services Ltd." to the HKIS no later than 18 May 2016. 1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

1.	I confirm that I fully understand and accept the risk of joining the above visit. Under no circumstances shall The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors ("HKIS"), their staff or agents be held liable for the consequence of any accidents whether or not they are caused by the negligence of the HKIS, their staff and/or agents.
2.	Members participating in the above visit shall be in good health condition.
3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
4.	Claims related to COVID-19 and/or pandemics are excluded under the insurance policy procured by the HKIS.
