Part 1: Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) – Former North Kowloon Magistracy (前北九龍裁判法院)

The North Kowloon Magistracy was built in 1960 and had been used as both magistrates' courts and government offices. It was one of Hong Kong's busiest magistracies until its closure in 2005. The building was turned to the Savannah College of Art and Design and opened in 2010.

The building comprises seven storeys with its main elevation facing Tai Po Road. Tall narrow windows dominate the front façade which features a double-canopied central projecting bay together with a grand entrance staircase. With a central atrium, it is built with granite ashlar blocks with neo-Classical architectural features such as moulded architraved doorcases. Also, there is a central Italianate style staircase with ornamental ironwork balustrades featuring Grecian motifs.

Part 2: YHA Youth Hostel – Former Mei Ho House, part of Shek Kip Mei Estate (美荷樓)
Grade II historic buildings in Hong Kong

Mei Ho House is the remaining H-shaped public housing Block in Hong Kong. It was part of the Shek Kip Mei Estate - oldest public housing estate first built in 1954. The estate the commencement of the public housing programme in Hong Kong. The estate was redeveloped in 1990 while Mei Ho House (at that time Block 41) was retained. The building was converted to a youth hostel Hong Kong by Hong Kong Youth Hostels Association in 2013.

The building was designed as a resettlement with basic and simple features. It is a six-storey building characterized by two identical wings (or linear blocks) linked up by a cross piece forming the H-shaped plan. Each block consisted of dwelling units arranged in a back-to-back manner. The access balcony ran around the perimeter of each floor. The building was converted in 1970s with partition walls at the rear of units removed forming new flats of larger sizes. Balconies facing the courtyard were preserved, while those facing outwards were enclosed by windows forming the cooking areas.
