講師	:	Sr Prof. Hing Fung Leung, Past Chairperson of Hong Kong Mediation Council (HKMC), Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC). Sr Prof. Leung Hing Fung is a Past Chairperson of Hong Kong Mediation Council, Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC). He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Real Estate and Construction, University of Hong Kong, specialising in property and construction law and dispute resolution. He practises as mediator, barrister and arbitrator. Sr Prof. Leung is a very experienced mediator and started practising mediation in 2003. Despite his background in quantity surveying and law, the cases he has mediated cover many different natures and wide range of disputed amounts, from small commercial cases to huge land disputes involving billions of Hong Kong dollars. He has on many occasions acted as Lead Assessor in Stage 2 mediation assessments for Hong Kong Mediation Accreditation Association Limited, HKIAC and the Law Society of Hong Kong. Sr Prof. Leung is now a member of the Panel of General Accredited Mediators of HKMAAL, HKIAC, the Joint Panel of Mediators of Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors and Hong Kong Institute of Architects, the List of Mediators of Hong Kong Bar Association, the List of Mediators of Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators and the List of Mediators of the Financial Dispute Resolution Centre. Besides, he is an invited mediator of the International Mediation Court set up at the Shanghai Free Trade Zone. He is also a member of the HKIAC Mediation Accreditation Committee and a member of the Sub-Committees of Accreditation and Regulatory Framework under the Steering Committee on Mediation chaired by the Secretary for Justice. 詳情	:	This is a seminar on mediation co-organized by the HKIS and the Construction Mediation Interest Group of the Hong Kong Mediation Council (HKMC) (a division of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre). It aims to enhance the knowledge of surveyors on the use of mediation to effectively resolve disputes before resorting to confrontational dispute resolution means. The seminar will highlight the benefits of mediation to surveyors followed by experience sharing and demonstration on how mediation is conducted.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

Under no circumstances shall The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors ("HKIS"), their staff or agents be held liable for the consequence of any accidents whether or not they are caused by the negligence of the HKIS, their staff and/or agents.
2.	Members participating in the above visit shall be in good health condition.
3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
4.	Claims related to COVID-19 and/or pandemics are excluded under the insurance policy procured by the HKIS.
