講師	:	Ar. Joseph Kwan MH Ar. Joseph Kwan, Architect and Access Consultant has nearly 40 years of experience in architectural practice having worked in Australia, United Kingdom, France and Hong Kong. He is the Founding Director of UDA Consultants Ltd (Universal Design & Accessibility) in Hong Kong since 2005. As a forerunner in the barrier free access arena in Hong Kong since 1987, Ar. Kwan has provided expert advice on accessibility design for numerous construction projects, including government buildings, hospitals, universities, and public facilities. He is advisor to the UN-DESA, UN-ESCAP, UNDP, ADB and the World Bank on universal access issues. He has been invited to speak on topics ranging from universal accessibility, accessible transportation and inclusive tourism in more than 30 countries globally. In recognition of his achievements in improving the built environment for the disabled, he was awarded the Medal of Honour (MH) by the Hong Kong SAR Government in 2001. He also received The AIA (American Institute of Architects) Hong Kong Citation in recognition of distinguished achievement as a community-based consultancy service in promoting and implementing barrier-free accessible environments for the elderly and people with disabilities in Hong Kong in 2000.

詳情	:	The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (hereinafter referred to as the UN-CRPD) has been promulgated in the Hong Kong SAR since 31 August 2008, which symbolizes the further implementation of the rights of persons with disabilities. Accessibility of the built environment is an important part of equality and full participation in the community. Barrier-free building environment not only enhance the image and status of buildings in different communities, but actually benefit independent usage by a range of facility users such as people with disabilities, the elderly, pregnant women, hand-push baby carriages or people with large luggage. The Chief Executive, in his Policy Address 2016, pointed out that the Government would step up the construction of a friendly environment for the elderly. This would not only facilitate the elderly to use various community facilities and facilitate safe walking in the district, but also benefit the disabled and other people in need. In recent years, many building owners have taken the initiative to improve their barrier-free facilities. There are also various organizations providing accessible community information to the public. This indicates that the community is becoming more and more concern with providing barrier-free facilities for those in need. Being a building professional working as developers, construction contractors or property / facility managers, we play a crucial role in the decision making process and should therefore make more impactful contribution to promote barrier-free buildings in the community and to build a communion of the city. Ar Joseph Kwan MH, will share with us the international trend, background and history of BFA development. It would help us to better understand the rationale of the BFA design and to remind us of our social responsibility as a true building professional.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

1.	I confirm that I fully understand and accept the risk of joining the above visit. Under no circumstances shall The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors ("HKIS"), their staff or agents be held liable for the consequence of any accidents whether or not they are caused by the negligence of the HKIS, their staff and/or agents.
2.	Members participating in the above visit shall be in good health condition.
3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
4.	Claims related to COVID-19 and/or pandemics are excluded under the insurance policy procured by the HKIS.
