詳情 :

HKIS should have been advocating Spatial Data Infrastructure for some years if not decades. In this 2017’s Policy Address, para. 70 wrote :

"The Government is striving to promote the establishment of a Common Spatial Data Infrastructure (CSDI) to provide government departments as well as public and private organisations with an information infrastructure to share spatial data, supporting various smart city applications, and support the smart city blueprint of the ITB. The Development Bureau is commissioning a strategic study on the development of CSDI."

While the Government is driving the CSDI, perhaps it’s time for us who are surveyors to revisit what Spatial Data Infrastructure should look like, would these "four letters" relevant to our bread and butter as well as the trendy terms like BIM, "Big Data", "Open Data" and "Smart City"? Should we surveyors "care more" rather than "couldn't care less" so as to co-create the spatial data infrastructure similar to other physical infrastructure of Hong Kong?
