詳情	:	Kowloon East has long been recognized as a traditional industrial base. This region witnessed the rapid development of Hong Kong in the old days. However, following relocation of the Airport to Chek Lap Kok and manufacturing base to the Mainland, lots of industrial buildings have become vacant. Some private developers, with good market sense, took the first-mover initiatives to develop high grade office buildings. To take advantage of this opportunity, the Chief Executive announced in the 2011-12 Policy Address that the Government will adopt a visionary, coordinated and integrated approach to transform Kowloon East into another Central Business District. In recent years, many countries have been devoted significant resources to develop Smart Cities. It is a rising concept which aims to facilitate city management and enhance residents' quality of life via efficient use of resources and service delivery. It is believed that smart city development can play an important role in the transformation of Kowloon East by offering innovative and sustainable urban development solutions. This seminar will outline the development of Kowloon East as a smart city pilot project, with particular emphasis on the conceptual plan for energizing Kowloon East and the implementation of various smart city initiatives, including enhanced urban design, land sale conditions review, and improvement to connectivity and the associated infrastructures. Moreover, smart city framework to create a green and smart neighbourhood will be discussed.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

Under no circumstances shall The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors ("HKIS"), their staff or agents be held liable for the consequence of any accidents whether or not they are caused by the negligence of the HKIS, their staff and/or agents.
2.	Members participating in the above visit shall be in good health condition.
3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
4.	Claims related to COVID-19 and/or pandemics are excluded under the insurance policy procured by the HKIS.
