講師	:	Dr. Jack C P Cheng Dr. Cheng is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). He obtained his Bachelor degree with First Class Honors and his MPhil degree from HKUST, and then obtained his PhD degree from Stanford University. His research interest includes building information modeling (BIM), 3D GIS, Internet of Things (IoTs), Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID), data mining, laser scanning, construction informatics and management, smart city, green buildings, and sustainable construction. Dr. Cheng is currently the Vice-Chair of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Global Center for Excellence in Computing, the Vice Chairman of Autodesk Industry Advisory Board (AIAB), the Treasurer and Director of ASCE Hong Kong Section, the Editor of the journal Visualization in Engineering, the Editor of the journal Construction Innovation, a Professional Member of Hong Kong Institute of Building Information Modeling (HKIBIM), a Founding Member of buildingSMART Hong Kong, and a Certified Carbon Auditor Professional. He has received the Young BIMer of the Year BIM Excellence Award 2014 from the Hong Kong Construction Industry Council, and several paper awards in international conferences.

詳情	:	BIM has been increasingly applied for design and construction of buildings and civil infrastructure. However, the application of BIM for facility management (FM), is still at the early stage. There are several challenges for BIM-enabled FM. For example, integration among BIM, FM system and building management system is still immature. BIM models are often not available for existing buildings. Location-based context-aware approach for FM is still lacking. This seminar will talk about the opportunities and challenges of BIM application, integrated with IoTs, reality capture and augmented reality (AR) technologies, for FM of the built environment.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.
