講師	:	Sr Dr. Ellen Lau Ellen is a fellow member of HKIS and RICS. She taught quantity surveying courses for nearly 30 years and is presently involving more in supervising students for projects and dissertations. She previously worked with quantity surveying consultant firms and an international contractor before she started her academic career at City University of Hong Kong. Her research interests are generally in management, procurement and surveying. She has published many papers and has acted as reviewers in reputable journals and conferences, and edited two books in addition to involving in the accreditation process for acquiring international recognition for educational institution.

詳情	:	Hong Kong and Singapore are always taken for comparison worldwide for economic social and education development. However not many studies refer to the organizational development of environmental issues of these two cities. The speaker attempts to examine the green building development in Singapore and Hong Kong, thereafter analyze those factors affecting the performance and efficiency of the development of green buildings, and finally, investigate the green building development orientation or architecture which leads to better urban performance of the city. The content of the talk means to: (i) compare and contrast the green building standards in Hong Kong and Singapore; (ii) compare the environmental performance of two green buildings in these cities; (iii) produce a summary of the benefits that could be brought to the city through the performance of green building design such that recommendation can be made for future development of the performance of green buildings.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.
