2017 PDD Annual Conference
The 2017 PDD Annual Conference on 16 September was titled, “Country Park – Conservation or Development?” The event, which convened at the Royal Plaza Hotel in Mongkok, was well-received by over 200 participants, who along with the speakers, were the foci of the media throughout the conference. The former Assistant Director of Agricuture and Fisheries Conservation enlightened the audience on how the boundaries of Hong Kong’s country parks were initially defined. The Director of Planning revisited the history of some examples of past development in country parks and there were constructive and fruitful exchanges of ideas on whether or not development should continue there, as this is currently a contentious issue in Hong Kong.
