Throughout the years, the GPD’s good financial standing has afforded it tremendous professional development and networking opportunities. But it must be prepared for contingencies, one of which is the impending lease expiry of the HKIS’s premises at the Wing On Centre with a possibility of facing non-renewal. Given the GPD’s accumulated reserves of under HK$3 million as at the end of November 2019, the Institute’s potential relocation and renovation costs could quickly deplete its funds.
