Revision to the Code of Practice under the Land Survey Ordinance Cap 473
The Code of Practice (COP) under the Land Survey Ordinance (LSO Cap 473) was first released in 1995, while its 4th Edition (Revised) was issued in 2006. For the purpose of enhancing the practical instructions and guidance in respect of land boundary surveys and related matters, the Land Survey Authority (hereafter the Authority) considers it opportune to update the provisions of the COP by issuing the 5th Edition of the COP in accordance with Section 29 of the LSO.

A briefing to HKIS Members was held on 20 July via Zoom. Sr CHAN Siu-bun, Deputy Director for Survey and Mapping of the Lands Department, briefed members on the changes from the 1st to 4th Editions of the COP and how the 5th Edition would improve the COP so that the LSO could better meet the purpose of the legislation.
