Results of the QSD Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) in September 2009 The APC, which started in September 2009, finally completed in January 2010. 77 candidates are successfully satisfied all the requirements and eligible for submitting membership applications and 9 candidates are successfully passed the written assessment and interview assessment but required submission of supplementary training records or critical analysis reports to the satisfaction of the APC panel before eligible for submitting membership applications All candidates have been notified of the results. Those candidates, eligible for submitting membership applications, will be invited to attend a "New Members Welcoming Party", which will offer them a precious opportunity to meet our fellow members and to get familiar with the HKIS that will support their coming professional life. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the candidates who have passed the APC and to welcome them for becoming our members. I would also like to express my sincere thanks to the members of the APC sub-committee, the members of the APC panel and the APC assessors for their precious time and tremendous effort in making the APC a success. The Divisional Education Committee (DEC) is looking after both the APC and the Assessment of Technical Competence for Technical Associates (ATC) for Quantity Surveying Division (QSD) this year. The DEC is open-minded and will welcome all comments and suggestions for enhancing the APC and the ATC such as the interview assessment and the requirements of the critical analysis reports. ATC for QSD in year 2010 The ATC for QSD in year 2010 will be held in May this year. The ATC comprises two parts, written assessment and interview assessment. The written assessment will be held on Friday, 14 May 2010 and the interview assessment will be conducted in June 2010. Successful candidates will become Technical Associates (TAHKIS) of the HKIS. The application forms (form no: ATC3QS) for the ATC are now available from the HKIS office. The forms and the "Rules and Guide to ATC (QSD)" can also be downloaded from the HKIS website www.hkis.org.hk (HKIS main page-> Professional Development->APC/ATC-> QSD). Duly completed application forms and the application fees for the ATC in year 2010 must be received by the HKIS office no later than 5:30pm on Friday, 23 April 2010.
