Message from YSG Chairman (April 2012)

Being Young

On 23 March 2012, I was invited to the Inauguration Ceremony of the Surveying Society, A.S., HKUSU, Session 2012-2013.

Being the representative of students is nothing easier than being the Chief Executive. He or she will have to always listen and understand what exactly the fellow members want, coordinate and facilitate communications, and come up with consensus, present the ideas loud and clear, implement the proposals effectively, and always protect the interests of the organization as a whole. There will be huge responsibilities and expectations rest on him or her, be it contractually, statutorily or ethically.

I was very impressed by the passion of our future surveyors. They show no fear in front of the challenges ahead and are ready to fight for their goals. They have reminded me the spirit of being young.

We, at YSG, will continue to act as the powerhouse of the surveying profession. We will play hard, but will not forget to work hard. We may make mistakes sometimes, but we will not give up and fall again.

One more new member, Wilson Pang (BS), has joined our YSG Committee as co-opted member in our monthly meeting held on 13 April 2012. We are waiting for you, too!
