Annual HKIS CEPA visit to Beijing – 國家測繪地理信息局

The Chairman and LSD Council Member – Sr Alberich YU with HKIS delegates will visit the 國家測繪地理信息局 on 3 November 2014. The details of the discussion will be shared in the next Surveyors Times issue.

 

Biennial LSD Guangdong – HK - Macau Interflow visit 2014

The biennial LSD Guangdong – HK – Macau interflow visit to Chaozhou was successfully held from 30 October to 1 November 2014. More than 20 participants had a good time with the Guangdong Provincial Association of Surveying and Mapping 廣東省測繪學會 and our Macau counterparts. The Chairman gave a speech on the latest development of survey and mapping contributions in Hong Kong relating to real estate and infrastructure projects. LSD Annual SDI Conference 2014 - “Are You Ready Become BIMmer?”

The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS), the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES) and the Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics (LSGI) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) successfully held the 5th Joint Annual Conference on Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) in Hong Kong on 26 September 2014. The conference attracted an audience of over 200 guests from the geospatial industry including engineers, surveyors and academia. The topics include:-

Land Surveying Division Annual Dinner 2014 – 24 October 2014

With the theme of “Surveying & Development”, the LSD Annual Dinner was successfully held on 24 October 2014 at the Royal Plaza Hotel (Junior Ballroom I, Level 3,193 Prince Edward Road West, Kowloon). More than 100 guests came to share the joy of the occasion and strengthen fellowship that evening. It was our pleasure to have Mr Eric SC MA, Under Secretary for Development to be the Guest of Honour for the ceremony. The details of the LSD annual dinner will be shared in the next Surveyors Times issue.

 

LSD CPD about Arctic Circle – Spitsburgen of Svalbard

The Chairman joined a scientific visit to Spitsburgen of Svalbard in October 2014. He will be conducting a CPD seminar on this valuable visit.

LSD APC Part I Written Assessment (13 December 2014)

Date: 13 December 2014 (Saturday)

Time: 10:00 am to 12:00 noon

Venue: Hong Kong Management Association, Room 201, 2/F, First Commercial Building, 33-35 Leighton Road, Causeway Bay.

  • Only Probationers who have been approved to enter the LSD APC scheme are eligible to apply for this Part I Written Assessment.
  • Completed form (APC-3/LS) together with the application fee (i.e. a cheque of HK$550 payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”) must be returned to the HKIS no later than 5:30pm on 21 November 2014 (Friday).  Late submission will not be accepted. Incomplete application form will not be entertained.
  • The syllabus and application form (APC-3/LS) for the LSD APC Part I Written Assessment could be downloaded from our HKIS website (HKIS main page à Professional Development à APC à LSD at http://www.hkis.org.hk/en/professional_apc.php?division=LSD&x=7&y=11)
  • After having submitted the duly completed application form, applicants should receive written notification from HKIS Secretariat by 3 December 2014. Applicants should approach the HKIS Secretariat as soon as possible if they do not receive the notification.


Note: Typhoon & Rainstorm Arrangement

 

The Written Assessment will be postponed if typhoon signal No. 8 or above or the black rainstorm warning is in effect at 8:00 am on the day of the Assessment. Notice of postponement will be issued later.
