Message from LSD Chairman (June 2015)

Consultation on the Amendment to the Land Survey Ordinance (Cap. 473)
Further to the de-linking of the proposal to include a clause on the determination of land boundaries in the LSO in December 2010, the momentum for proceeding with the exercise could not be sustained by the latest developments in the Land Title Ordinance saga. As such, we issued a letter urging the government to initiate a public consultation over the Land Survey (Amendment) Bill again. A reply from the Development Bureau was received, but there remains no concrete timetable for its legislative procedure and implementation. Thus, the government welcomed further dialogue with us and more discussion on the issue, since it at least recognises the problems that can arise from land boundary disputes.
