Details	:	Mr. Colin Cheng, a professional building surveyor, is one of the Unit Head of the Minor Works Unit of Buildings Department. He is a founding staff of the Minor Works Unit which is responsible for the preparation and the implementation of the Minor Works Control System (MWCS) in particular the processing of submissions under the simplified requirements and the Household minor works validation scheme. He had participated in the legislative stage of the Building (Minor Works) Regulations, drafting and the preparation of the general and technical guidelines on the MWCS, design and the preparation of the administrative procedures and new specified and standard forms used under the simplified requirements, and the preparation of new PNAPs and amendment of existing PNAPs with respect to the implementation of the MWCS, etc. The MWCS had been fully implemented from 31 December 2010. It introduces a new categories of registered contractors, namely registered minor works contractors, and a series of new terminology including but not limited to "minor works", "simplified requirements", "designated exempted works" …… A new system which will have impacts on the Hong Kong construction industry surveyors SHOULD know. The speaker will share its history, current situations and its future development with his personal experience.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
