Details	:	Public engagement entitled “Building Design to Foster a Quality and Sustainable Built Environment” was launched by the SDC between June and October 2009. The SDC submitted report to the Government in June 2010, which the Government has promptly responded to. A package of measures was outlined and was ordered by the Chief Executive to be implemented at the meeting of the Executive Council in September 2010. The Development Bureau provided a brief to the Legislative Council on 13th October 2010 proposing the new measures to come to effect on the 1st April 2011. Compliance with sustainable design guidelines including Site coverage of greenery is one of the new measures as a pre-requisite for obtaining GFA concession. The relevant details were issued under the new Practice Notes PNAP APP-152. After reviewing this new Practice Note, the Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects (HKILA) issued a list of enquiries to the Buildings Department in July 2011 on the operation of the PNAP APP-152, including the followings: 1. Calculation of greenery area for the different types and quality of planting 2. Calculation of greenery area for water features 3. Interpretation of “pedestrian zone” 4. Calculation of greenery area for different types of vertical greening systems 5. Comparison of the green ratio requirements under this Practice Note and under Beam Plus 6. Any requirement of landscape proposal during the approval process The Buildings Department will give a briefing session on the new requirements on site coverage of greenery as well as response to the enquiries raised by HKILA. The briefing session will be followed by a Q&A session.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.
