Steven J Sherman - Chairman of Standards Board of IVSC
Steve is a Partner at KPMG LLP in Chicago within the Economic and Valuation Services practice. He is also the Chair of KPMG's Global Valuations Committee overseeing a network of 1,200 professionals in more than 50 countries.
Steve has nearly 30 years of valuation experience related to financial reporting, tax planning, mergers and acquisitions and expert testimony. He has lectured extensively to arious organizations including the AICPA, the American Society of Appraisers and the Kellogg Graduate School of Management and has hosted many conferences and seminars. Steve has written various articles and has been interviewed by news media worldwide (e.g. in Abu Dhabi, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, and the UK). Clients include some of the largest multinationals worldwide.

Simon Landy – Member of Standards Board of IVSC
Simon Landy is Managing Director of Primo Co. Ltd, a property fund management company, and Executive Chairman, Colliers International, Thailand. Simon has over 20 years experience as a practitioner and user of valuation in
developing markets in Asia. He was chair in 1998/99 of a working group to develop the Thai Valuation Profession and is current chair of the RICS/Asian Public Real Estate Association Thailand REIT Reform Task Force.

Siu Yu Nova Chan - Member of Standards Board of IVSC
Nova Chan is a Partner in the Advisory Division of PricewaterhouseCoopers in China. He is a member of the China Valuation Standards
Technical Committee and a Council member of the China Appraisal Society. Since 1998, he has been actively involved in drafting China Valuation Standards and Guidance, including Business Valuation Guidelines (released in 2004) and
Guidelines for Financial Reporting Purposes (released in 2007).

Paul Hawkes - Member of Professional Board of IVSC
Paul Hawkes is a Managing Director at UBS where he is Head of Group Valuation Governance, based in Zurich. In this role Paul primarily focuses on the Investment Bank and Group Treasury functions, dealing with Fixed Income, Structured Credit, Equity and Exotic Products as well as Hedging Activities in Group Treasury. Paul has previous experience in Accounting Policies, Large System Implementations, Legal and Regulatory Reporting, as well as playing a
major part in the introduction of the Euro at his previous Bank. Paul has well in excess of twenty years experience in the Banking Industry, and has only worked for two major Banking organisations; UBS for over eight years, and JP
Morgan prior to this. Paul is a Chartered Accountant, having trained with one of the Big 4. He is also a Chartered Management Accountant and holds a Masters Degree in Mathematics from Oxford University.

Chris Thorne - Technical Director, IVSC
Chris Thorne has been appointed Technical Director of IVSC since Sept, 2010. Chris has more than fifteen years of experience in valuation standard setting both nationally and internationally and has served as the chair of the IVSC’s International Valuation Standards Board between 2008 and 2010. Before joining IVSC, Chris was a Senior Director and Technical Head of Valuation of BNP Paribas Real Estate. In addition to his role as chairman of the International Valuation Standards Board, he has played a leading role in the IVSC Valuation of Financial Instruments Group and has been the IVSC’s representative to the FASB Valuation Resource Group

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.
