Speaker	:	Mr Nelson Ho, BSc, MBA, F.PFM, MHKIS, MRICS, MCMI, RPS(BS), BEAM Pro, ISO 50001 Internal Auditor Senior Manager, Facilities Management, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation Mr Nelson Ho is responsible for facility management of the Hong Kong Science Park and InnoCentre, and the environment and safety management of the above properties and the 3 Industrial Estates of Hong Kong. Nelson is an experienced Building Surveyor and Facility Manager, possessed over 23 years’ experience in Projects and Facilities Management. He got the first ISO50001 Energy Management System Certification in Hong Kong for the Science Park buildings in September 2011. He is an expert in energy management outside the engineering profession and is a member of the Task Force on Energy Management System (EnMS) Certification of the Hong Kong Accreditation Service. In addition to energy management, Mr. Ho’s major professional/research interests are Facilities management, project management, sustainable technologies and standards, outsourcing management, maintenance, BIM- FM technology, conservation, rehabilitation and restoration of heritage buildings.

Details	:	Sustainability is a very hot agenda in the management and maintenance of buildings. However, quite some systems or technologies are costly and difficult to achieve payback. ISO50001 Energy Management System is a very special management system that it gives you savings -- not spending. Moreover, it calls for both technical expertise and management system expertise side by side in its establishment and certification. Mr. Ho will introduce the requirements of ISO50001 system to the audience and share his vision in this new Energy Management system. Mr Ho will also share with the audience how and why a building surveyor can lead the establishment of an engineering management system with success as well as the achievements that brought by the implementation of this new management system to the Hong Kong Science Park.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
4.	Claims related to COVID-19 and/or pandemics are excluded under the insurance policy procured by the HKIS.
