Details	:	The demolition of Queen’s Pier has aroused the public concerns on protection of the heritage in Hong Kong. In result, a Heritage Office was set up under Development Bureau to implement of conservation projects in Hong Kong, like revitalizing historic buildings through partnership; heritage impact assessment and providing economic incentives for preservation of privately-owned historic building. It opens a lot of opportunities in private practice to take part in the conservation works. In order to equip building surveyors with some basic knowledge in conservation works, two series of seminars will be arranged 1^st Series: Basic knowledge in heritage conservation and its opportunities 2^nd Series: Technical knowledge in Conservation Works (to be arranged in 1^st Quarter of 2014) Below is the tentative schedule of the site visit:- Gathering at entrance of HKU Space near Exit B of Mei Foo MTR Station at 9:30a.m. We will then walk to the site. (about 15 minutes walking distance only) 10:00a.m. -12:00 noon Guide tour around the site to learn what are the works involved in the revitalization project. 12:00 noon - 1:00p.m. Brief Seminar on the stages and works involved from the birth of the idea of revitalisation scheme to the completed projects ( major stages included: initial building survey, preparing design concept, submission, heritage impact assessment, conservation plan, project design and construction stage). Review of this project and its effect / feedback to the revitalization schemes in the future will also be discussed.
Remarks	:	FULL Online registration is NOT accepted for this CPD event. Please fill in the attached Declaration Form together with Standard Reservation Form for this CPD event. First-come-first-served with duly completed Standard Reservation Form, Declaration Form and payment. Latecomers will NOT be picked up.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

2.	Members participating in the above visit shall be in good health condition.
3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
4.	Claims related to COVID-19 and/or pandemics are excluded under the insurance policy procured by the HKIS.
