Details	:	The adaptive reuse of heritage architecture is a conservation approach that takes an old building to the future by giving it a socially relevant new use. To effectively carry out adaptive reuse, new construction must be added to the existing building to cater to the new use for which the original building was not designed. As demonstrated by architect I. M. Pei’s design of the Louvre Pyramid, innovative additions to a heritage building may become valued architectural heritage in the future. This short lecture will introduce innovative adaptive reuse designs from around the world. 舊建新用是保育建築文物的其中一種方法。做法就是給舊建築物加上社會上有需要的新用途，令到舊建築物有新的前途。要更有效地實現舊建新用，舊的建築必需配合為新用途而設的新建造。正如建築師貝聿銘所設計的羅浮宮玻璃金字塔所引証，建築文物加上有前瞻性設計的新建造是會產生日後受大眾愛護的未來建築文物。這個簡短的講演介紹了世界各地的一些有前瞻性的舊建新用設計。

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

Under no circumstances shall The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors ("HKIS"), their staff or agents be held liable for the consequence of any accidents whether or not they are caused by the negligence of the HKIS, their staff and/or agents.

3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
