Solomon is a practising Barrister specializes in arbitration and construction related litigations. He is also a Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng), a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE), a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators (FHKIArb), a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb) and a HKMAAL and HKIAC Accredited Mediator.

Solomon has a broad range of experience in the construction industry before joining the Bar. He worked for engineering consultants, contractors, claims consultants and the MTRC. He participated in building and civil engineering projects such as the Stonecutters Bridge, Discovery Bay North civil engineering works, Shatin-Central Link and Express Rail Link.

Apart from professional practices, Solomon is also an updating contributor of “Hong Kong Construction Law” (Lexis Nexis) and a part-time lecturer in various universities.

 Do Hong Kong Courts interpret construction contracts differently? Do Hong Kong Courts recognize common sub-contract payment terms such as back-to-back or pay-when-paid? By using two recent Hong Kong High Court cases as examples, this talk will look at Courts’ approach in interpretation of construction sub-contracts and especially back-to-back payment terms.
