Speaker : Mr Felix Leung and Mr Maurice wan of MTRCL

Mr Felix Leung is the Head of Pearl River Delta Property of the Mass Transit Railway Corporation Limited (the Corporation) and is responsible for overseeing all the Corporation’s property development projects in the Pearl River Delta Region. He has over 20 year experience in large-scale comprehensive development projects under the ‘Railway plus Property model’ in both Hong Kong and the Mainland China and has extensive experience in the areas of land administration, planning and design, marketing, feasibility and financial analysis and deal negotiation.
Mr Leung is currently the Vice President of Shenzhen Real Estate Association. Before joining the Corporation, he worked in Lands Department as Senior Survey Officer and in Melbourne as a commercial consultant.

Mr. Maurice Wan, Chief Project Manager – Property, joined the Corporation in 1993 and held various managerial positions responsible for large scale developments in Hong Kong and business developments in Mainland China with profound knowledge of project management in the aspects of master planning, architectural design, cost control / procurement, construction and programming. In 2011, Mr. Wan was assigned to set up a dedicated property development project team in Shenzhen and responsible for the Corporation’s first self-development project in Mainland China from inception to completion and handover.
Before joining the Corporation, Mr. Wan was with Bechtel International Company as Project Engineer working in Mainland China and the United States during the period from 1985 to 1993.

 The visit will provide insights into the planning and construction of a residential project in Shenzhen and the difficulties of constructing a property development immediately above an operating railway depot with reference to the MTR Corporation’s Shenzhen Metro Line 4 Depot Development Project -“Tiara” (港铁.天颂 ).

 
Itinerary:
09:30 All participating members shall meet up at Gate 1 on ground floor, Futian Checkpoint Building, (深圳福田口岸大楼) in Shenzhen and travel to the Railway Depot by coach
10:15 Arrive at the MTR Metro Line 4 Depot
10:30 Presentation on the planning and construction of “Tiara” (港铁.天颂)
11:30 Site visit to SZL4 Operation Control Centre and Maintenance Depot 
12:30 Lunch
14:00 Site Visit to Tiara
14:45 Ride SZL4 train to visit the Shenzhen North Station – a major terminus of 
the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail
15:30 Ride SZL4 train back to Futian Station
16:00 Arrive at Futian Checkpoint Building (深圳福田口岸大楼) and dismiss. Members shall make their own transport back to HK.

1.Participating member shall ensure that he/she has the appropriate and valid travel document and visa for entering into Mainland China
2.All participating members shall arrange their own transport to and meet at Gate 1 on Ground Floor, Futian Checkpoint Building, (深圳福田口岸大楼) in Shenzhen, PRC before 9:30 am on Saturday 10 January 2015. Late comers will not be picked up.
3.Members shall also arrange their own transport back to HK at the end of site visit.
4.While HKIS will arrange for insurance policy for the participants, members may consider taking out their own insurance policy to cover their own risks.
5.All participating members shall bring their own non-slip shoes.
