Prof. Lai worked as a Town Planner in Hong Kong Government before joining the University of Hong Kong as Lecturer in 1989, he is currently a Professor in the Department of Real Estate and Construction of the Faculty of Architecture.
Prof. Lai is a Fellow Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, a Fellow Member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Member of Royal Australian Planning Institute and a Member of Hong Kong Institute of Planners.
