Land supply is always scarce in Hong Kong.  Lack of longer term land supply not only affects property market but also the economic growth and social stability of Hong Kong.  Government has put land supply among the list of top priorities in order to meet the strong demand on housing and other uses.  To change raw land to developable site by way of change of land use and modification of land lease conditions are subject to statutory controls and Government approval procedures.  As real estate and construction practitioners, surveyors are involved in land matters and property development process in Hong Kong and would have comments on existing Government policies and statutory framework on land supply and development.  HKIS Land Policy Panel holds a forum this year to provide an opportunity and a platform for members to discuss and raise their comments on the issues associated with the land supply policy.  In the forum, distinguished guests in this field are invited to share their valuable views on relevant topics.  Comments and views will be collected and consolidated and then submitted to the Government authorities for reference.
