Speaker	:	Sr Paul K L Wong, MSc, FHKIS, MRICS, RPS(QS), MCIOB, MHKICM, MAIB, MHIREA Paul K L Wong is the Chairman of the Quantity Surveying Division of Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors. He is a Director of Chinney Construction Co., Ltd. and has worked in the construction industry (working for consultants and contractors) for more than 27 years. He is also registered as Technical Director and Authorized Signatory under the Buildings Department’s list of Registered General Building Contractors.

Details	:	In Hong Kong Standard Method of Measurement Building Works – Fourth Edition (HKSMM4), it contains 20 trade sections (including preliminaries, demolitions and alterations, piling, excavation, concrete works, different builder’s works, different M&E works and landscaping). In preparing bills of quantities, HKSMM4 has been widely adopted by quantity surveyors for classification of different works according to these 20 trade sections. When sub-contracting different works of building projects, Contractors are required to sub-divide different works in much smaller pieces so as to suit the specialization of different sub-contractors and suppliers. Therefore, it is not abnormal that there are more than 100 sub-contracts in a building project. In this talk, Paul will share his experience on contractor’s practice in sub-contracting for building projects.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.
