Details :

Mobile mapping is a new trend of survey technology by which the positioning and remote sensing sensors are integrated on a mobile platform to collect the 3D visualized and geo-referenced geospatial data. Highways Department is applying the technology to acquire the road surface inventory data for the asset management, and some promising results have been obtained. In the seminar, the speaker will introduce the MMS technology being adopted, which includes the equipment configuration, the field survey procedures and the post-processing approaches to generate the 3D visualized ground model and the GIS database. He will also share his experience about applications of the MMS and demonstrate some of the results already obtained.
