Details :

Many “Local” contractors in China carry aggressive mind set in running of construction projects nowadays.  They even dishonor the terms and conditions in the signed contracts, notwithstanding the final confirmation of respective supplements by the contractors before the award of the tenders.  In many occasions, they find many excuses not to follow the rules under the contract or try to misinterpret the original intent of the contract provisions when facing difficulties / time constraints at site or pricing errors, etc., with an aim to generating extraordinary claims to the developers.

This talk will highlight the current controversial attitude and manner of “Local” contractors in China in dealing claims, and the backgrounds causing such move in construction practices.

The speakers will use case studies to illustrate and elaborate the causes and ways of settlement/adjustment, etc. in respect of the claims by “Local” contractors in China from developer’s and consultant’s point of view.
