Ken is a Council Member of the Quantity Surveying Division of the HKIS and a Senior Lecturer in Construction in IVE (Morrison Hill). He has been working in the QS education field for 8 years. He is very familiar with the academic quality framework and has help to successfully secure the academic accreditation for a number of QS-related programmes in Hong Kong. He presented a paper titled “Vocational Education and Training (VET) of Quantity Surveying in Hong Kong” in the 20th PAQS Congress 2016 in Christchurch, New Zealand in May 2016.

This talk will provide a brief review on the quantity surveying education in a number of Asia-Pacific regions, including Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Brunei, etc.

 

This talk will focus on the level of programmes, academic qualification system, professional recognition and development of QS-related programmes in various states. It aims to provide the audience with better understanding of QS education in the local market as well as in our nearby regions, and to evaluate the direction of its future development in supplying more well-trained QS graduates to meet the market needs.
