Mr. Eric CM Lee, is an experienced architect having more than 20 years of relevant experience who specialized in heritage study and conservation for historic buildings.

Mr. Lee has been a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects since December 1992 and a Registered Architect of the Architects Registration Board in Hong Kong since July 1993. He is also qualified as an Authorized Person with the Buildings Department, HKSAR. He is trained in Chinese vernacular and colonial architecture, a member of the China ICOMOS and chairman of the Heritage & Conservation Committee of HKIA.

He has a master degree in Architectural Conservation in the Department of Architecture, Hong Kong University (HKU) and specialized in restoration and adaptive reuse of historic buildings. He has a wide spectrum of working experience in restoration, adaptive re-use, conservation study archaeological and heritage assessment.

The speech will be delivered at 16 Feb 2017 (Thursday), and the site visit for the Blue House Cluster (藍屋) will be at 9 am, 18 Feb 2017 (Saturday) and the site visit for Tai O Police Station at Tai O (大澳) will be at 9 am, 25 Feb 2017 (Saturday).

 

Site Visit to the Blue House Cluster (藍屋): (Detail will be posted in separate CPD event)

The Blue House Cluster which composed of Blue House (1922-25), Yellow House (1920s) and Orange House (1950s) was revitalized in the Project “Viva Blue House” by adopting the Hong Kong’s first “Retain House and Tenant” approach. A new link bridge and a central plaza will be constructed at the back of cluster by linking all buildings together to create a new open apace.

Site Visit to Tai O Police Station at Tai O(大澳): (Detail will be posted in separate CPD event)
The old Tai O Police Station built in early 20th century has been being restored and adapted for a new boutique hotel being one of first the pioneer projects of the Government’s Revitalization of Historic Buildings Partnership Scheme.
