Details :

Over the last 20 years, remote sensing has evolved from interpretation of air photos using manual techniques to the automated collection, analysis and utilization of digital imagery, mainly from orbiting satellites. The synoptic view of cities and regions afforded by remote sensing platforms confers great potential for data collection although for some applications manual aerial photographic and image interpretation is sometimes still preferred for data collection.  This CPD will emphasize on sharing the principles of image data acquisition, and data quality, as well as skills and techniques of image interpretation and analysis. The CPD will also demonstrate the real world applications of remote sensing to environmental applications including land use/land cover, monitoring the urban heat island, water pollution and urban air quality.
