Details	:	Itinerary : 9:45 am - Gathering at Butterfly Valley Road Pet Garden 10:00 am - Visit to Lai Chi Kok Drainage Tunnel (荔枝角雨水排放道) 11:30 am - Dismiss at Lai Chi Kok Drainage Tunnel (The scheduled time may be changed so as to suit the actual conditions on the date of the visit.) (Successful registration will receive details of the visit.) With continuous urbanization and development in Lai Chi Kok, Sham Shui Po and Cheung Sha Wan, the capacity of existing drainage system was no longer adequate to cope with the increasing flows during times of heavy rainstorms and floodings was found at the costal urban areas. The construction of Lai Chi Kok Drainage Tunnel (LCKDT) was commenced in November 2008 and it was commissioned in October 2012. LCKDT adopted an interception approach which six intakes are constructed along Northern side of Ching Cheung Road to intercept stormwater flow. The intercepted flow is then diverted to the stilling basin via the branch tunnel and then further discharge to the harbor via the main tunnel. Tunnel interception approach is an innovative flood relief measure. The construction work sites are located in rural areas such that extensive road openings can be avoided and minimize the disturbances to the public, traffic, and commercial activities and at the same time achieving the flood relief purpose. The 3.7km tunnel is consisted of a 2.5km long “branch tunnel” constructed at the mid-level along Ching Cheung Road and a 1.2km long “main tunnel” underlying below Lai Chi Kok urban area. A stilling basin is located in between the two tunnels and the outfall is located at Stonecutters Island. In this event, the representative of the DSD will brief our members the basic concept and operation of the LCKDT. A tour of different areas of the LCKDT will also be arranged.

First-come-first-served with duly completed Standard Reservation Form, Declaration Form and payment. Please equip with your own flat bottom non-slip shoes. Latecomers will NOT be picked up. Transportation to Lai Chi Kok Drainage Tunnel to be arranged by members. (Please also see the attached location map) a. By MTR: drop off at Lai Chi Kok Station; then take 10-15 minutes walk.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
4.	Claims related to COVID-19 and/or pandemics are excluded under the insurance policy procured by the HKIS.
