Sr Nathan Lee Hoi-tat has more than 20 years of experience in building surveying practice having worked in Hong Kong. He is the Managing Director of Ample Surveyor Services Limited since 2006. As a Professional Building Surveyor (FHKIS), Authorized Person and Registered Inspector, Sr Nathan has provided expert advice on project management, government submission, expert witness and building survey for numerous construction projects, including government buildings, hospitals, universities, and public facilities. Apart from his business, he also actively involves in various institutional and social affairs. He also serves as committee member of Building Appeal Tribunal, Geotechnical Engineer Registration Committee and Contractor Registration Committee etc.

Sr Nathan LEE will give a quick overview of the Mandatory Building Inspection Scheme (MBIS). Under the MBIS, building owners are required to appoint a registered inspector and a qualified person respectively to carry out prescribed inspection and supervise the prescribed repair of their buildings. Sr Nathan LEE will also give an account of matters relating to the appointment, control and duties of Registered Inspectors (RIs).

 

Sr Nathan LEE will share with members about the main contents of the MBIS regarding inspection preparations and understanding of the various requirements. Sr Nathan LEE will also share his 20+ years of practical experience in construction industry including the building inspections.

 

It would help us to better understand the Code and our social roles and responsibility as a building professional to maintain a healthy and safe community for the general public.
