Details :

BIM has been increasingly applied for design and construction of buildings and civil infrastructure. However, the application of BIM for facility management (FM), is still at the early stage. There are several challenges for BIM-enabled FM. For example, integration among BIM, FM system and building management system is still immature. BIM models are often not available for existing buildings. Location-based context-aware approach for FM is still lacking. This seminar will talk about the opportunities and challenges of BIM application, integrated with IoTs, reality capture and augmented reality (AR) technologies, for FM of the built environment.
