BIM creates technological innovations in construction, and many construction professionals are aware of the potential benefits brought about by this technology nowadays. However, the implementation of BIM in Hong Kong lags far behind its potential and the adoption rate is still low when comparing with other BIM leading countries. Thus, this research study aims to investigate the extent of BIM applications in the current quantity surveying practices in Hong Kong and the barriers hindering the adoption. The results are expected to assist the HKIS to formulate effective strategy to promote BIM in quantity surveying.
