Speaker : Sr H Y Wan

Sr Wan has more than 25 years’ experience in the construction industry providing contract advisory and quantity surveying services to major international organisations, including both private and public clients, in Hong Kong and China.

Sr Wan has gained solid experience on traditional quantity surveying duties before specialising in providing contractual advice in relation to various contract forms including the New Engineering Contract (NEC). He is currently the NEC advisors for three government projects in Hong Kong and is carrying out a research regarding the performance among contracts adopting NEC and Non-NEC form of contract.

The role of a post-contract NEC advisor is to provide advisory services to the project team on the administration and management of the project at the post-contract stage.  The post-contract NEC advisor sometimes encounters difficulties in recommending the correct approach in managing a project, especially in interpreting the contract when the contract documents were prepared by others during the pre-contract stage.
