Harrison Cheung is a practicing barrister and a Hong Kong Registered Professional Engineer (Civil). He is also qualified as Dispute Resolution Advisor, and is a HKIAC Accredited Mediator, Adjudicator and Listed Arbitrator. He is also serving the Buildings Appeal Tribunal as a Chairman.

Harrison is a seasoned speaker and delivers talks on a variety of topics including construction and law. He is now working on 3 projects as an independent NEC Specialist and he also advised contractors frequently on other NEC projects and tenders.

The Government of HKSAR has adopted the New Engineering Contract (NEC) for more than 80 civil engineering/building projects since 2009 and will continue to use NEC in future. Its application is not without disputes, especially when the original NEC form is amended substantially in the local context.

 

The speaker will look into some common controversial practical issues of NEC application locally and share his experience and opinion on these issues.
